O Christmas Tree

Idén till denna canvastavla är inte ny, men det är däremot materialet. Rispapper, washitape och underbara designpapper med jultema är alla nyinkomna i Reprints sortiment. Rispappret fästes direkt på canvasduken med ett särskilt rispapperslim och målades sedan över med en white-wash av gesso och vatten. Snöflingor och text stämplades med Staz-on och pappersremsorna som bildar själva granen fick först kanterna infärgade med Distress ink och fästes sedan med decoupagelim.

The idea for this canvas is not new, but the materials sure are! The rice paper, washi tape and the wonderful Christmas design papers are all new. The rice paper is adhered directly to the canvas base using a special glue for rice papers, and then covered with a white wash of gesso and water. I used Staz-on for the stamps to ensure that they would not smere for the next steps. I inked the edges of the paper strips for the tree with Distress ink, and then adhered them using decoupage glue.

The stamped sentiment was cut into pieces and adhered using decoupage glue. The amazing gold flakes are sitting on the branches as if they were snow.

Inte en stjärna i topp, men däremot en julröd blomma. Glitterpasta ger den lite extra julig känsla.

This tree didn't get a star at the top, but instead a Christmas red flower. I covered it with glitter paste for that sparkly feeling.

Altered Easter glass jar

En söt burk fylld till bredden med påskägg kan ges till en liten påskkärring eller egentligen till vem som helst. Här har jag använt mig av Reprints nya mixed media produkter för att skapa denna läckerbit.

A cute jar filled with Easter candy is the perfect gift for practically anyone. I used the Mixed media product line from Reprint for this sweet treet.

Man måste inte skapa på en canvas - en urdiskad senapsburk funkar fint det också! Här ser ni vilka produkter jag utgått ifrån, länkar till produkterna finns längst ner i inlägget.

Mixed media is not only for canvas projects - an empty mustard jar works perfectly fine as well! Here are the products I used for this project.

Jag började med att fästa vanligt silkespapper med hjälp av decoupagelimmet. Reprint har vackra mönstrade rispapper, men jag ville ha en enfärgad bas så vanligt vitt passade bra. Ovan på det penslade jag på ett tunt lager av akrylfärg, vit med guldmetallicbrytning. Påsketiketten fäste jag med decoupagelimmet och sedan applicerade jag den coolaste produkten av dem alla: Pasta Luce med guldflingor. Jag la ganska stora klumpar längs hela nederkanten av burken, och även längs kanterna på locket. Och lite på blomman. :) Det vita limmet torkar genomskinligt och då syns bara de fina guldflagorna.

I started by adding some silk paper using the decoupage glue. Reprint have some stunning designed rice paper, but I used regular white silk paper since I didn't want any pattern for the base. On top, I brushed a layer of acrylic paint, white with gold metallic. Again I used the decoupage glue, this time to adhere the Easter label/cut out. Around the bottom edge and also around the lid, I then added the coolest product of the all, Pasta Luce with gold flakes (the flower got some as well). I added thick lumps at the very bottom, don't be afraid to add more than you think! :) The white glue dries clear, and the gold flakes will magically appear.

Texten stämplade jag med StazOn på krympplast som jag stansat ut en cirkel av. Viktigt att komma ihåg är att göra eventuella hål innan man värmer plasten, för sen blir den så hård att den spricker om man försöker då. Under krympplasten satte jag en utstansad cirkel av ett prickigt papper, så att texten skulle synas bättre mot bakgrunden.

The sentiment was stamped using StazOn on shrink plastic. Remember to punch a hole in the plastic before you heat it up, since it will crack if you try to punch it afterwords. I placed a punched-out circle of dotted green paper under the plastic, to make the text stand out against the background.

Nu får påskkärringarna komma, innan jag hinner äta upp all goda äggen själv!

Now we are all set for the Easter witches to come fetch the sweets before I eat them myself!

I [heart] Mixed Media

I was privileged to attend Annelie´s class in Mixed Media last weekend at Reprint and it was so inspiring! I got to try it in a different way than I usually do and I love getting new ideas. I made a real color explosion canvas:

My new love when it comes materials is defenitely the Dylusion Spray´s.You can use them in so many different ways like coloring embellishments like flowers and ribbons.

Ett riktigt roligt sätt att använda dekorationer som inte behöver matcha i färg...

En bakgrund av papp (fling paket) som grundats med vit Gesso och sedan mistats

med Dylusions Ink Spray, Vibrant Turquoise.

En vacker bild från klipparket Vintage women, hon har krönts med en metalldekoration 

som jag klippt av upphängnigsöglan på. Massor av blommor av olika material 

och modeller som limmats fast på underlaget och målats över med Gesso och Ink.

A beautiful picture from a Reprint sheet, Vintage women, she has been "crowned" with a 

metal decoration. Lots of flowers of different materials and sizes  glued to the background 

and painted with gesso and ink.

Texten utskriven på datan, En av de nya fjärilarna skymtar under Gesso och färg.

Bitar av pärlband, spets och även metalldekorationer har också kommit till användning.

Det är inte bara själva bokstäverna från Sizzix/Holts die Typeset Alphabet som är

användbara, här har jag använt "spillet" som en stencil och gjort bokstäver med Gesso

 på bakgrunden 

It's not just the letters from Sizzix / Holts die typeset Alphabet that is useful, I've used 

the "waste" as a stencil and made letters with Gesso on the background

Ett chipboard hjärta målat med vit Crackle Paint är uppträtt på en veckad pappersremsa 

med en spetskant som tittar fram inunder.
